During times like these, there are many things we can be doing to “keep going”. Over the last couple of weeks, as a Placement Partner family, we have been able to delve into the practicalities of facing the uncertain future: Planning on how to up-skill, maximising our operations, motivating our teams and improving our digital processes. All very important.

In my mind, however, there is one trump card that can get you through absolutely anything and that is…An Entrepreneurial Mindset. Some people may look at this Entrepreneurial mindset as a soft skill, or a way-out dreamy hope-like way of thinking. A skill where the impact cannot be measured even.

To really understand what an entrepreneur is, we could simply look around our direct circle and see them.

  • Placement Partner is a business built from entrepreneurs who seized an opportunity almost 20 years ago to become the first South African recruiting system built by recruiters.
  • The recruiters who form a part of our family are the biggest go-getters out there, having taken all the upfront risk to build a business in a highly competitive market with an attitude that is determined to shake an entire industry.
  • Entrepreneurs aren’t driven by cushy titles or comfortable positions. They prefer to follow their passions, challenge themselves and live on the edge, with the belief that there is always something greater. If I didn’t believe that I surely wouldn’t have left my well-paid job to start my own training & consulting business.

On my journey, I have also met the opposite of the above entrepreneur. Those that I often wished I could be more like. Why can’t I be safe, conservative and go with the flow? I respect those people and was glad when I had them at my side as they brought me a sense of grounding.

On the other hand, I found a sense of flight when I met a like-minded individual, who could appreciate the fact that I questioned everything and found marvel in every new idea. No matter how small. One of my favourite people to talk to was my client and friend, Andrew Walton, who is the founder of African Overland Tours and more recently Build It, Boost It. Every conversation with Andrew is filled with larger than life hand gestures and positive words like ‘INCREDIBLE’ and ‘AMAZING’. But, he is not just all positive talk, he is a person that seeks experiences, studies, understands and then tries again. He is people-driven, he practices what he preaches and expects nothing from anybody if he couldn’t do it himself. He gives every person the benefit of the doubt and finds opportunities where he recognises a glimmer of passion.

Andrew is an entrepreneur to the max, but as everyone knows the tourism industry has been undoubtedly one of the hardest industries hit by the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown crisis. Over the past few months, I have watched how Andrew has forged ahead, despite high anxieties, uncertain terrain and a daily fight with enemies he could never have dreamed of. And whilst he is human, I have marvelled at his ability to push forward no matter what bad news each news announcement brought him. This is surely someone we can all learn from!

In these times, I don’t think safety and conservative is going to cut it. In these times, we need to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and practically build up our tenacity and resilience to adapt, challenge and create.

This is why I have asked Andrew to share his story, his experience and even some amazing tools that will help you to begin to build that most invaluable entrepreneurial mindset that will stand the test of time.

This is one for the WHOLE team! Make it your inspirational session for the week!

FAQALL➜

Can the system automatically generate documents such as CV’s?

Yes. Templates are used to automatically generate documents from the data stored in Placement Partner. A typical example of this is to automatically generate standardised CV’s which can be sent directly to your clients.

Can we store files in the Placement Partner database?

Yes. Placement Partner was designed to store candidate CV files and many other files with each candidate’s and client’s record.

Can anyone on the internet access our database?

No. Placement Partner is password-protected and is hosted on an encrypted secure connection which makes unauthorised access virtually impossible. An unfortunate reality today is that a server, located in your office building, is far more likely to be stolen than someone gaining unauthorised access to your data via a secure connection. Our servers, with your data on, are located in a high-security data center and we keep the location of our servers strictly confidential.

How does the pricing structure work?

Placement Partner is charged on a monthly subscription basis, based on the number of users.
